The specific objectives of the study were to find out the types of information available in the Public school libraries in Kano Municipal to find out the types of information utilized by students in public secondary schools in Kano Municipal to examine the extent to which the students utilize the library for academic activities in the library under study to find out how the library improve the academic performance of students in public secondary schools to identify the barriers for effective utilization of library in public. The literature was reviewed in line with the objective of the study. Total of 90,704 make up the population of the study, out of which 200 were randomly selected and participated in the survey, providing valuable insights into their perspectives and experiences. Questionnaire was used as data collection instrument. The collected data was analyzed using frequency count and percentages.
