Introduction

Mobilization steps for prospective corps members

This post is for prospective NYSC corps members who are ready to be mobilized for the nationwide national youth service corps. Go through this post carefully so as not to miss any step during your registration at the official NYSC portal.

Below is the step by step process of NYSC mobilization exercise;

1. CLEARANCE IN SCHOOL:
NYSC mobilization starts right after graduates have completed their final clearance in their respective institutions.

2. GET YOUR STATEMENT OF RESULTS:
 After completing your final clearance the next step is to your statement of results. It will be needed for registration in the NYSC orientation camp.

3. SIGN UP FOR NYSC:
While waiting for your statement of results to be ready, you can proceed to register for NYSC at the students’ affairs directorate in your institution of learning.

4. VERIFY YOUR NAME ON JAMB MATRICULATION LIST:
It is important to verify your name on JAMB matriculation list because if your name is not on the list you will not be eligible to register for service.

5. VERIFY YOUR NAME ON THE SENATE LIST:
Your institution will upload the names of those who are eligible to serve on the NYSC portal. After this list has been uploaded, please verify your name.

6. NYSC ONLINE REGISTRATION:
Only those whose names were uploaded on the NYSC Senate list will be eligible to register online for the service.

7. PRINT YOUR CALL UP LETTER:
After registering online next is to wait for your call up letter to be out. The letter will show you the state you have been deployed to, date to report and other necessary information.

8. GET THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR CAMP REGISTRATION:
Make sure all the necessary documents are ready because you will need them at the NYSC Orientation camp for registration. Listed below are some of the documents required for registration;

a. Final year I.D Card:
You need to go with the original copy of your final year identity card. Two copies are required.
b. Statement of Results (B.Sc. or HND)
You need to go with the original and four photocopies of your degree or HND statement of results.
c. If you do not have the statement of results do not go to the NYSC camp. For foreign-trained graduates, you must present the original certificate itself.
d. People who graduated from polytechnics within Nigeria should go with both ND and HND statement of results
e. Medical doctors, pharmacists or optometrists or other medical professions should go to camp along with the original registration certificate with the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacists’ Board, or Optometrists Registration Council and evidence of completion of houseman ship or internship.
f. NYSC call up letter:
Never forget your call up letter. You need to go with the original and four photocopies. Please do not laminate your call up letter because a laminated copy will be rejected.
g. Green Card:
Go with the original and four photocopies. Green card is the online print out slip after NYSC online registration. Also do not laminate it.
Note: the Green card and call up letter are to be printed out in colored fonts.
h. Recent passport photograph:
Go with 8 copies of your most recent passport photograph. The background color should be white.
i. Medical certificate of fitness:
Go with original copies and photocopies.

Once you have all these sorted out, then you are good to go. We hope you have a great service year!

Assuming one didn't enroll via Jamb, and intends to serve his/her father land?
