The researcher in this work found out that, lack of concern for workers demand resulted to lack of commitment to work by the workers and has equally led to industrial actions (strike). The purpose of this research work is to find out how much of motivating and non-motivating variables are present in the power holding company of Nigeria (PHCN) and as well as the extent to which motivation affect worker morale. In the research mythology, the research made use of primary and secondary data frequency table, percentage determination and chi square test were used to analyze the data collected through structured questionnaires designed to suit the objective of the project work. Some findings based on the data were made which among other things are that based on the data were made which among other things are, that power holding company of Nigeria (PHCN) has low incentive scheme, remuneration is not commensurate with worker output. The researcher recommend that, the management of power holding company of Nigeria (PHCN) should motivate their worker through monetary incentives by given them some welfare packages and promotions. They should give them opportunities for development by way of training their employee to maximize their potentials in given direction.
