Shortage of skills of manpower, poor supervision, poor site management, unsuitable leadership, shortage and breakdown of equipment among others contribute to construction delays. However, little or no efforts have been made to curtail the phenomenon. It is against this background that this research work attempts to study the factors that are responsible, so as to identify them and proffer possible ways of tackling the menace. The study attempts this through chosen professionals as population and samples were drawn to this effect at random from the category of professionals, using sampling design and procedures methods. The data were collected from a primary source consisting of clients, consultants, and contractors in the construction industry. A total of fifty (50) questionnaires were administered in which forty (40) were retrieved, thirty-six (36) of these complete questionnaires were used for the analysis. The Data analysis was done with statistical software package SPSS from data collected from the retrieved questionnaires in which are converted into numeric data.
