Effect of the extracts of Euphorbia Heterophylla leaves on some biochemical parameters in Guinea pig Department:Science Technology By: philip123 Project ID: 2991 Rating: (3.3) votes: 6 Price:₦2000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractBiochemical parameters such as Aspartate amino transferase (AST), Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Blood sugar (glucose), Total protein content and Serum bilirubin were used to assess the effect of the aqueous crude extracts of E.heterophylla on guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus). The extracts were administered intraperitoneally and the guinea pigs scarified after six hours. One mortality was recorded. The biochemical examination of the animals showed that there was a decrease in the levels of AST, ALT and Blood sugar of the test animals when compared with the control animals. There was no significant difference in the total protein content of guinea pigs administered extract when compared with control. There was an increase in the level of serum bilirubin in test animals when compared with control. This could be due to the toxicity of the extract to the living tissues. It is therefore suggested that caution should be exercised on its use for medicinal purposes....Preview Download Preview +Other Science Technology project topics and materials you might be interested in»Design and construction of cell phone charger»Bacteriological qualities of food thickener deuterium microcarpum (ofor) and brachystegia eurcycoma (achi) sold in Owerri main market»Physiochemical assessment of soil samples from Nwambe Reserve Forest, Ndubia Igagu Izzi L.G.A, Ebonyi State.»Obstacle detection robot with ultrasonic sensor»Antitrypanosomal activity of ethanol extract of Tridax Procumbent leaf and whole flower on T.
