Abstract
This study was conducted to find the relationship between employee motivation and productivity in Nigeria. Data was collected through administration of a questionnaire, distributed to relevant company personnel, together with interviews. In this study, descriptive techniques such as percentages was used for data analysis and the results were presented in harmony with the research question. These study that the organization in an attempt to increase the productivity level of its workforce employed some motivational techniques in the form of fringe benefits and other reward system. In spite of these motivational techniques the productivity level of an average worker still remain low. From the study, we found out that the training programmes of the company is not regular and also that only some categories of staff mostly, the senior staff and beneficiaries. Based on the findings the following recommendation were made. Management should ensure that the motivational techniques to be used are those that are perceived by the workers as good and enough can stimulate them to work harder. ...
