Abstract
This work was designed to examine the Social and Economic Benefit of Workers and Industrial Cooperatives toward a successful cooperative movement in Nigeria. A case study of Federal Polytechnic Cooperative Thrift and Loan Society Limited in Imo State. This was done based on the workers in cooperatives thrift and loan societies. Meanwhile, the researcher used two methods, in the process of carrying out the research, which are primary and secondary sources which include questionnaire, desk research and observation techniques. All these assisted in minimizing sampling errors and the responses from the questions were presented in tabular forms which were computed in tables and percentages. From finds, it was discovered that there are some problems including poor staff remuneration, lack of infrastructural facilities, small administration, and mobilization of savings, etc. In order to address these problems and make workers to benefits from social and economic benefits, this paper made some recommendations that can be helped to uncover some of the intrigues in cooperative thrift and loan society. ...
