The subject passed the screening criteria after which they have assessed with visual acuity and contrast sensitivity test. The subject used was 196 comprising of 97 males(49.49%) and 99 females (50.51%) of age between 16 to 30 years with the mean age of 21.78+3.71. The visual acuity and contrast sensitivity of the subject were performed according to the degree of myopia. The result showed that myopia-3.00 OD had a mean value visual acuity of 0.39 for both eye and contrast sensitivity of the right eye 0.20 and the left eye 0.23myopia -3.00 to -6.00 had a mean value of visual acuity of 0.09 for both eyes and contrast sensitivity on the right 0.20 and the left eye 0.23 myopia from -3.00 to -6.00 had a mean value of visual acuity of 0.09 for both eye and contrast sensitivity of 0.01 for both eyes myopia -6.00 had a mean visual acuity of 0.09 for both eyes and contrast sensitivity of 0.00 for both eyes. Data was analyzed with SPSS version 21 using the spearman rank correlation coefficient at 95% confidence interval and 0.05 level of significance. This showed a significant evaluation[P (0.00)0.05] between visual acuity and contrast sensitivity among uncorrected myopes. In conclusion, the higher the amount of myopia the lesser the contrast sensitivity. It is recommended that further studies should be carried out to compare the contrast sensitivity with other refractive errors. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Dispensing Opticianry project topics and materials you might be interested in»Production of -1.00-2.50×80 on a single vision plastic lens»The relationship between the visual acuity and contrast sensitivity in myopia of young adults in Owerri west local government area»The comparative analysis on effects of antireflective and blue light coating amongst staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri
