Abstract
Staff training and development is a key to achieving organizational success and corporate development. This project aimed at finding out Training as a tool for employee productivity in an organization. The study hypothesized that On-Job training has a positive effect on organizational effectiveness and efficiency and Off-the-Job training leads to enhancing the productivity of an organization. Results revealed that training programmes improve employees’ skills and performance at the workplace, and enhance their technical know-how/ wherewithal to withstand the challenges of contemporary times, thus, an effective tool for sustaining and enhancing workers' productivity. It was recommended that the organization should ensure proper and regular evaluation of each staff performances to be done at periodic intervals also to liaise with training organizations like Industrial Training Fund Research and Educational Institute for efficient training of staff. ...
