Nigeria is proud of sesame production. Sesame production has been practiced over the years in Maru district. It is, therefore, of paramount importance to identify some problems in the production of sesame and some ways in order to improve sesame production in Maru district. In an effort to assess the above mentioned, the following sample areas were used randomly which includes Maru, Kadaddaba, Ceboji, Dan Marke, and Jabaka. The result obtained using these study areas indicates that the majority of sesame farmers do not require improved seed, fertilizer and other techniques. However, this is the case as far as the said result is concerned when the government decided to motivate all improved techniques to the farmers free of charge or in a low cost. The finding from the study shows that there are many problems in sesame production as problems of land tenure through inheritance pest and disease, cost of inputs, marketing problems and finance.
