The major objective of this project is to examine the possibility of eradicating unemployment in Kogi State through entrepreneurial development and to determine the extent to which basic training can motivate the youths to establish and grow business enterprises in their community. The methodology adopted in gathering data was both the primary and secondary methods. The major instrument used to gather data from primary sources is the questionnaire. From a population of sixty (60) a sample size of fifty-two (52) respondents was selected using simple random technique. Findings revealed that entrepreneurial skills can help in reducing youth unemployment and it can help youth to be self-reliant. Entrepreneurship basic training can motivate the youths to establish and grow their business enterprises. In view of this finding, it is recommended that the government should establish more entrepreneurial training and workshop programs that would serve as a guide for the youth in the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills in other to facilitate their self-employability.
