This research was designed to assess the prevalence of pregnant-related acute kidney injury between 2013 to 2022 at the University of Delta, Teaching Hospital, Agbor Delta State. The aim of the study is to determine the prevalence of pregnancy-related acute kidney injury, the prevalence by socio-demographic variables, the etiologies, and short-term outcomes with treatment strategies. Relevant literatures were reviewed and the ecological health model of behavior was used to review the topic theoretically. A retrospective non-experimental research design was used to evaluate the research problem. Data was collected using a checklist consisting of prevalence, age, and religion. It was analyzed using chi-square and presented using charts and tables which showed that there was a reduction in the prevalence of pregnancy-related acute kidney injury with an increase in 2017 of 5(15.2%) and in 2022 with 5(15.2%) and a decline in 2013 with, 4(12.1%), followed by other years. The study also revealed that there is a higher prevalence of pregnancy-related AKI among those aged 30-50 years 18(54.5%) (1960) than in those aged 18-29 years 15(45.5%)(1640) . The etiologies13(39.4%) of the prevalence of pregnancy-related acute kidney injury was caused by postpartum hemorrhage, 6(18.2%) was caused by preeclampsia/eclampsia, 12(36.4%) was caused by puerperal sepsis, 1(3%) was antepartum hemorrhage and 1(3%) was caused by septic abortion. The short-term outcomes show that all recovered and all underwent conservative and hemodialysis therapy. Recommendation includes prompt treatment of infections and hemorrhage during pregnancy.
