Disease classification is the classification of diseases or patients` diagnoses according to some established criteria. In recent years however, there have been several issues of inadequacies in the practice of health records which has resulted in low awareness and developmental issues, the study therefore focused on the assessment of the effectiveness of disease classification in OAUTHC. The study determined the coding experience level of health information managers in OAUTHC, examined the attitude of health records officers towards disease classification, it determined the relationship between record documentation and quality disease classification and ascertained the level of effectiveness of disease classification in OAUTHC. The study adopted a descriptive research design in which structured questionnaires were used for data collection. Total enumeration of the respondents was carried out. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0 was used to analyze the data gathered from the respondents.
