Abstract
This study investigated the effect of internal revenue generation on service delivery in Agaie local government area of Niger State. Specifically, the study aims to investigate the effect of motor price rate, motor licensing rate, market entrance rate and motor cycle rate on service delivery in Agaie local government area. This research is designed to assess revenue sources and service delivery. To achieve the objectives of the study both primary and secondary data were used for analysis. The study being a survey research required the use of instruments such as interviews and questionnaires. The study targets a population were the entire staff of Agaie local government revenue department (which are 43 in total). The study utilized a structured questionnaire to collect quantitative data on participants' perceptions. Descriptive statistical tools were used to describe the data frequency and percentage was used for the research before being interpreted. The research findings reflect a generally positive perception of local governance, service delivery, and economic activities in Agaie. While there are areas of concern, such as the lack of consensus on the fairness of motor licensing rates, the overall satisfaction and positive sentiments toward the local government and market-related factors suggest a foundation for continued community development. The study recommends that local government should continuously assess and enhance service delivery mechanisms, ensuring that they remain responsive to the evolving needs of the community. Feedback loops, performance evaluations, and regular assessments can help identify areas for improvement and maintain a high level of service quality. Considering the positive perception of market entrance rates and their impact on service delivery and revenue generation, the local government should continue to support economic activities within the community. s....
