The study used four (4) research questions and explored various useful concepts on the Knowledge and practice of oral contraceptives including the factors affecting their use. The total population used was 126 and 50 of the total population were used as the sample population. 50 questionnaires was administered using a convenient sampling method and were discussed in relation to the objectives set for the study. Majority of the respondents (80%) understood the meaning of oral contraceptives, 8% practice the use of oral contraceptives while (92%) do not practice the use of oral contraceptives. Generally, the researcher observed that factors such as religious factors, side effects, cultural factors and cost factors have a reasonable influence in inhibiting the practice of oral contraceptives. Based on findings from this study, the researcher concluded that although the knowledge of oral contraceptives was high among women of reproductive age but the practice was very low.
