The study was carried out to examine the effect of facilities management practice on physical facilities that support teaching and learning in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions a case study of Nigerian Army University Biu, Borno State. Four research questions were formulated to direct and guide the study. The research design used in this research is a mixed method which consists of qualitative and quantitative method which gives broad and comprehensive understanding on the study. The population for the study consisted of 3249 numbers of students. The sample size for the study was 346 respondents using the sampling table to arrive at the total number of respondents. A structured questionnaire was used for quantitative data collection. A total of 346 copies of questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and collected by the researcher. While an interview was carried out to get the result of the qualitative method of data analysis. The interview was focused on the Works and Physical Planning and Development Department where five of the respondents were interview based on the interview guide. The data collected on the quantitative method was collated and analyzed using a Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) in getting the Mean Score while Content Analysis was used to analyze the qualitative method. The findings of the study revealed that there is a need for maintenance and management of facilities in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions because it affects the student’s engagement, satisfaction and flexibility.
