This project utilizes a mixed-methods approach, including both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The qualitative data has been obtained through observation and questionnaires from foreign observers who have participated in previous Nigerian elections. The quantitative data will be collected through questionnaires administered to Nigerian voters and election officials, the research also used purposive sampling techniques and taro yamane to determine the sample size. The study analyzes the impact of foreign observers on various aspects of the electoral process, such as voter education, voter registration, and the conduct of elections using thematic Analysis. It will also examine the challenges faced by foreign observers in carrying out their duties, as well as the strategies they have used to overcome these challenges. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on international election observation and provide insight into the effectiveness of foreign observers in ensuring the credibility of elections in Nigeria. The study will also provide recommendations for improving the role of foreign observers in future Nigerian elections and enhancing the overall credibility of the electoral process.
