The objective is to determine whether fraud cases have a negative impact on the Nigerian banking industry and to ascertain whether actual/expected loss associated with fraud has a negative impact on the Nigerian banking industry. Methods of data collection were primary and secondary sources of data collection. Simple percentage ratio was used in analyzing the different answers obtained in the questionnaire. The findings revealed that the bank operates some measure of effective internal control that easily detects fraud. The bank segregates, duties among employees which serves as checks and balances among the staff. The following is recommended for other researchers. Management control must reflect the changes going on in the organization from time to time so that cases of fraud can be significantly minimized. Fraud caused by collusion can be minimized by ensuring that no staff member performs more than one primary function, work that involves the use of passwords, Internal staff that are caught in any fraudulent act should be given strong punishment which can serve as a deterrent to other staff members.
