The establishment of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) will help reduce unemployment. The objective of this research work is to find out the extent to which vocational skills acquisition as one of the programs of NDE has an impact on the life of youth in Kogi state by developing them socially and economically. Data for the work were collected from both primary and secondary sources. From a population of seventy-one (71) staff was collected, a sample size of sixty (60) respondents was drawn using sample random sampling techniques. Simple percentage table and chi-square were used in analyzing the data. Finding it was interesting to know that the available facilities were rated as adequate. This is likely to enhance the program for whom the program is meant to be funded and to adequately motivate the program. Therefore, the following recommendations are hereby provided. Most importantly monitoring of the program should be encouraged to ensure judicious uses of funds guarantee prudent management.
