The data for this research work was collected through the primary and secondary methods of data collection. The collected data were analyzed by using frequency counts, tables and simple percentages which led the researchers to discover that agriculture has some indispensable roles in poverty reduction in Kogi State. The government of Kogi State needs to assist farmers in the state in transforming the agricultural sector. The assistance form the government will go a long way in helping to stimulate higher agricultural productivity in Kogi State. Government should provide the needed assistance to Nigerian farmers to the State. Government should provide the needed assistance to Nigerian farmers to transform and adopt the use of modern technology so as to stimulate higher productivity in agriculture and reduce the level poverty in the country. Government should directly invalided and encourage private sector participation in mechanized farming system so as to enhance better agricultural productivity in the country. Government should regularly keep farmers informed of the latest farming technology and also incorporate agricultural education programs into the schools, curricular at every level of the Nigerian educational system.
