The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced the redesign of Nigeria currency in 2022, and the policy was implemented in February 2023, with the objectives of improving the security features of the currency in order to reduce the rate of currency forgery, reduce the total amount of money in circulation to reduce inflation, increase the percentage of money availability in bank volts in order to increase the rate of financial inclusion. The population of the study comprises all staff of Lokoja Local Government area, Kogi State. At the end of the exercise, three hundred and ninety-nine (399) were selected as the sample size. Data for the study were collected through the use of questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage which were used to evaluate the opinion of the respondents. The researcher revealed that currency redesign affects the nation’s economy.
