Abstract
The study examined the impact of electoral credibility on the citizen’s perception of government at the grassroot level in Kogi State with reference to Lokoja Local Government Area. To examine the impact of electoral credibility on effective local government administration of Lokoja Local Government, as well as the opinion and perception of electorates in Lokoja Local Government on credible election and effective administration of Lokoja Local Government Area. The total population of Lokoja Local government staff is 850 with sample size of two hundred and fifty (250). Data obtained were analyzed using simple sample techniques, frequency and percentages. The findings revealed that: It is undoubtedly stated that the cause of electoral corruption are due to political interference, civil service salary and general level of poverty. The researcher, therefore, recommends that political parties must realize the transient nature of power and the more permanent nature of the large society. Political party interest should be subordinated to the greater good of the larger society....
