The construction of this project work will be useful presently and in the future. The main requirements of a low D.C power supply unit are: good regulations, low ripple, low output impedance and strict output short-circuit protection. The aim is to design a low DC power supply unit that will limit the maximum current that can be drawn from the power supply, ensuring protection for the connected devices and preventing overheating or damage caused by excessive current flow. In this project, a 240VRMS-to-15V centre-tapped transformer was used to step down the voltage to a lower voltage. The A.C voltage is rectified using a full wave rectifier to produce pure D.C voltage.
