The effectiveness of these functions depends largely on the availability, the needed competencies and skills acquired by the office manager in the modern office. This study examines the effects of modern communication gadgets on the office manager’s performance in Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. Some of the objectives of the research work include identifying the modern technologies used in communicating in an office and the importance of job rotation to expose the office manager to different types of machines used in the office. The population of the study at the time of the research work was 1,440 office managers while 313 office managers were used as samples for the research, both primary and secondary sources of data collection were used together with information. The information was analyzed using simple percentage method, the findings of the study revealed that most of the office managers do not have proper training on the use of these machines and that most of the gadgets mentioned in this research work are present in offices.
