With the proliferation of mobile devices and their increasing use in accessing information, libraries are exploring innovative ways to leverage mobile technology to enhance user experiences and extend their services beyond traditional brick-and-mortar settings. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys, interviews, and observations to examine the adoption, usage patterns, perceptions, and experiences of both library staff and users regarding mobile service delivery. A pilot study was conducted involving 31 postgraduate and 37 undergraduate students using questionnaires as the data collection tool. Qualitative data was collected and analyzed using Google Drive and was presented in the form of text and graphs. The findings reveal that mobile technology plays a significant role in facilitating access to library resources, improving service delivery efficiency, and increasing user satisfaction. However, challenges such as technological constraints, limited resources, and staff training gaps hinder the full realization of the potential benefits of mobile service delivery. Strategies for overcoming these challenges and enhancing mobile service delivery effectiveness are discussed, including investment in infrastructure, staff training, and user education initiatives. Overall, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on mobile technology adoption in libraries, providing insights into the opportunities, challenges, and implications of integrating mobile technology for service delivery. The recommendations outlined in this study offer practical guidance for libraries seeking to harness the power of mobile technology to meet the diverse needs of their users and adapt to the changing landscape of information access and delivery. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Library and Information Science project topics and materials you might be interested in»Staff Motivation in Academic Libraries»The effect of social media on reading culture among students»Annotated bibliography on information and communication technology»Library catalogue utilization among students in academic libraries - a case study of Federal Polytechnic Idah library»Effects of poor implementation of collection development policy in academic libraries»Product marketing: a strategic step for libraries in the information age (a case study of Imo state library board, Owerri)»Awareness and utilization of electronic information resources by library and information science students (a case study of Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Awka) »Information needs and seeking behaviour of senior non-academic staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri»Information needs and information seeking behaviour of children in public libraries - a case study of Kwara State library board, Ilorin»Challenges of ICT applications in law libraries»The availability and utilization of modern information resources in teaching and learning in selected private secondary schools in Owerri metropolis»Challenges of the management of staff appraisal programme in the library of Imo state (a case study of Imo state university)»Annotated bibliography on English language»A study of the information needs of rural health workers in Ebikoro, Owerri north LGA of Imo state»Effects of library on the academic performances of students in tertiary institutions
