The study adopted three research objectives for the study, and three research questions were raised to enable the researchers to gather information on the topic. The instrument used to collect the primary data for the study is a structured questionnaire, 100 questions were distributed to the respondents in the study, and the questionnaire was constructed using a four-point Likert scale of agreed, strongly agreed, disagreed and strongly disagreed. The major problem of the study is the issues of banditry and insecurity. The researchers conclude by giving some recommendations on the effect of banditry on socio-economic activities. The Government should invest in and equip the security personnel through proper training, upgrading of security gadgets, and adequate funding. Religious and ethnic leaders should continuously educate and enlighten their ethnic groups by preventing inter-ethnic or religious conflicts. The Nigerian government should direct the Nigerian security and civil defense to establish the Department of Forest Security.
