Traditionally, public libraries served as repositories of physical books and resources, offering a space for quiet study and research. However, the advent of ICT has transformed these institutions into dynamic centers for information access and dissemination, providing users with digital resources, internet services, and various multimedia tools. This study investigates the impact of Information Communication Technology (ICT) on the services provided by public libraries in Nigeria. Utilizing a sample size of 100 participants, the research employs questionnaires to gather data on the extent of ICT integration and its effects on service delivery. The findings reveal that while ICT has improved access to information and operational efficiency, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and lack of training hinder its full potential. The study recommends strategic investments in ICT infrastructure and comprehensive training programs to enhance the effectiveness of public libraries in Nigeria. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Library and Information Science project topics and materials you might be interested in»Staff Motivation in Academic Libraries»The effect of social media on reading culture among students»Annotated bibliography on information and communication technology»Library catalogue utilization among students in academic libraries - a case study of Federal Polytechnic Idah library»Effects of poor implementation of collection development policy in academic libraries»Product marketing: a strategic step for libraries in the information age (a case study of Imo state library board, Owerri)»Awareness and utilization of electronic information resources by library and information science students (a case study of Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Awka) »Information needs and seeking behaviour of senior non-academic staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri»Information needs and information seeking behaviour of children in public libraries - a case study of Kwara State library board, Ilorin»Challenges of ICT applications in law libraries»The availability and utilization of modern information resources in teaching and learning in selected private secondary schools in Owerri metropolis»Challenges of the management of staff appraisal programme in the library of Imo state (a case study of Imo state university)»Annotated bibliography on English language»A study of the information needs of rural health workers in Ebikoro, Owerri north LGA of Imo state»Effects of library on the academic performances of students in tertiary institutions
