Abstract
Prolonged labor is a significant obstetric complication that can lead to various maternal and neonatal adverse outcomes. This study aims to investigate the factors associated with prolonged labor among women aged 32-45 years, a demographic that may experience unique risks and challenges during childbirth due to age-related physiological changes. As maternal age increases, the incidence of prolonged labor tends to rise, possibly due to factors such as decreased uterine contractility, cervical insufficiency, and underlying medical conditions commonly associated with older maternal age. The primary objective of this study is to identify and analyze the socio-demographic, medical, and obstetric factors that contribute to prolonged labor in this age group. Key factors of interest include maternal health conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, obesity), previous obstetric history (e.g., prior cesarean sections, preterm births), and lifestyle factors (e.g., physical activity, nutrition). Additionally, the study will explore the role of prenatal care, delivery settings, and the use of interventions such as epidurals, oxytocin administration, and assisted delivery techniques....
