However, Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) remain a significant public health concern, particularly in underserved communities with limited access to healthcare and awareness programs. This study examines the effect of sexually transmitted diseases among adults aged 20 years and above in Lawyer Community, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. The research explores the prevalence, awareness levels, common risk factors, health implications, and the role of healthcare facilities in managing STDs within the community. A quantitative data collection method was adopted, using a structured questionnaire administered to adults 20 years and above in Lawyer community, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. A total of 150 adults, 20 years and above in Lawyer community, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. were randomly sampled for the study. Findings indicate a high prevalence of STDs, largely attributed to inadequate awareness, risky sexual behaviors, poor healthcare accessibility, and cultural perceptions that hinder preventive measures. The study further reveals that STDs significantly impact the physical and mental well-being of affected individuals, leading to complications such as infertility, emotional distress, and social stigma. Despite the presence of healthcare facilities, limited resources and inadequate sensitization programs weaken effective intervention. Therefore, the researcher recommended that law firms and professional organizations should integrate STD awareness programs into workplace wellness initiatives.
