A mixed-methods approach was used, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. A total of 100 participants were recruited for the study, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions. The results showed that consumers'' behavior towards diclofenac Intake was influenced by various factors, including demographic characteristics, perceived benefits and risks, sources of information, and cultural beliefs. The study found that 70% of participants used diclofenac for pain relief, while 30% used it for inflammatory purposes. However, 60% of participants reported misuse of diclofenac, including sharing medications and using expired drugs. The study identified significant associations between consumer behavior and demographic characteristics, such as age, gender, and education level. The study also found that consumers’ perceived benefits and risks of diclofenac use were significant predictors of their behavior. The qualitative data revealed that consumers’ cultural beliefs and practices influenced their behavior towards diclofenac use. The study identified themes such as perceived efficacy, safety concerns, and accessibility as influencing consumers’ decisions to use diclofenac. The study concludes that consumer behavior towards diclofenac intake in Kabba/Bunu L.G.A is complex and influenced by various factors. The findings have implications for healthcare policy and practice, highlighting the need for targeted interventions to improve medication use and consumer behavior.
