While the specific purpose is to identify the underlying causes of the kuteb/Fulani conflict in Takum L.G.A, to assess the socio-economic and political impacts of the conflict on the affected communities and the state, and to evaluate if there were political underpinnings to the conflict. The study is hinged on primordialism theory. In this study, a survey research design was adopted. The population of this study was carved out of the entire management staff, cutting across the top, middle and lower level management as well as other experts in Takum Local Government Area. Hence primary method of data collection was used, where a sample of 500 closed-ended questionnaires was prepared and administered to the respondents in the case study, who were selected using the five-point Likert scale. From the findings, the study reveals that peacebuilding initiatives must involve all stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and civil society, and should focus on promoting dialogue, rebuilding trust, and addressing grievances related to resource management. The study recommended that the government should improve the capacity of local authorities to manage conflicts, ensure fair and unbiased law enforcement, and promote political accountability. The researcher concluded that efforts should be made to disarm groups involved in the conflict and provide reintegration support to those affected, including trauma counseling and livelihood programs.
