The study was guided by three objectives. The research adopted a qualitative design using secondary data drawn from Amnesty International’s official reports, publications, case studies, and scholarly literature. The study population includes all Amnesty International reports and human rights documentation from 2000 to 2024, while the sample was purposively selected based on relevance to the research objectives. The instrument for data collection was titled“Secondary Data Extraction Guide on Amnesty Reports”, which facilitated the thematic organization of data. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, enabling the identification of core patterns in Amnesty’s advocacy, lobbying, public campaigns, and grassroots mobilization. Findings revealed that Amnesty International significantly contributes to raising global awareness, influencing public discourse, and pressuring governments to uphold human rights. Its public campaigns, such as“Write for Rights,” have mobilized millions and led to tangible outcomes, including the release of political prisoners and legal reforms. However, the organization faces challenges including political resistance, financial constraints, and accusations of bias. The study recommends that Amnesty International enhance local collaborations, diversify funding sources, protect frontline activists, and leverage digital technologies to expand its reach and resilience. These measures would reinforce Amnesty's capacity to uphold justice and confront emerging global human rights challenges....Preview Download Preview +Other Political Science project topics and materials you might be interested in»Federalism and national integration in Nigeria: issues and challenges»The role of local government in rural development: a study of Warri north local government area of Delta state»The role of political parties in democratic governance in Nigeria: a case study of PDP: 1999-2007»Dependency and underdevelopment in Africa: the Nigerian experience»Nigerian federalism and local government autonomy»Women empowerment in Nigerian politics: (case study of Udi local government area)»Terrorism and Nigerias economy: an assessment of the boko haram insurgency»Poverty reduction and sustainable development in Nigeria»Poverty and youth restiveness in Nigeria.
