Abstract
This research work titled:"An Analysis of the Impact Radio Programmes on Human Rights Protection: A Study of Selected Radio  Listeners in Yola Metropolis" analyzed the impact of radio programmes human rights on protection. The study was underpinned by the social responsibility media theory and agenda-setting theory. Using the survey research design with the questionnaire as the instrument of data collection, the study found that: radio programmes have impact on the protection of human rights and this impact is made feasible through their focus on gender equality, children rights, security agents and rights of citizens as well as equal political and economic opportunities for all citizens. Findings have also shown that radio programmes have positive impact on the protection of human rights in Yola metropolis. The study further established that radio programmes have to the greatest extent impact on the protection of human rights in Yola metropolis. Finally, findings revealed that radio programmes have impacted on the protection of human rights in a number ways which include promotion of equal access to social services and amenities, and they de-emphasize child abuse and discrimination against women. Based on the findings, the study, therefore, concludes that radio programmes have in a number of ways impacted positively on the protection of human rights particularly in Yola metropolis and the impact is to the greatest extent as well as very high....
