In order to actualize the objectives, 2013-2018 as the sample was selected/chosen for analysis to assess and measure the effects of the regulatory role of CBN. Various literature and theoretical issues were discussed. In addition, an empirical regression and descriptive analysis were carried out to investigate how CBN regulation variables impact on deposit money banks’ activities in Nigeria. The findings from both analyses revealed that the monetary policy rate has a negative but no relationship with how well CBN performs its roles. The finding shows that the regulatory role played by CBN is positively related to the change seen in the growth of deposit money banks in Nigeria. It is recommendation CBN should be given level of independence that will allow her to formulate good policy, this will serve policies from unnecessary intervention by the government and also saves time to respond to economic problems on time.
