It was treated in five chapters thus the introduction review of literature, research design and procedure, data analysis and result, and interpretations and discussion of results. However, the objectives were to identify the causes and effects and to also proffer solutions to cultism. The researcher designed a survey and the population size was 200. The study discovered that students with a poor academic background, weak values and those not quite sound in academics are easily lured to cultism. Equally, the effects include risking their lives being societal animals, armed robbers, while the females are wild, prostitutes and lack discipline. The study also discovered the scourge a societal problem that has caused a national concern. The study by design proferred the following solutions: expulsion of identified cultists, imprisonment of cultists, screen secondary school students thoroughly before admission into tertiary institution and establishment of mobile court by the ministry of education to try and jail cultists in their schools.
