Abstract
Poverty is one of the most challenging issues facing Nigeria today. Majority of Nigerians fall within the poverty level. The problem of poverty has remained a great concern to the government. However, the various government have implemented poverty alleviation programmes, yet, the poverty level has continued to undated. This project elevated the implementation of Sure-P as a poverty alleviation programmes in Bida local government area of Niger state. The researcher made use of primary sources to generate data. The research concluded that despite poverty alleviation programmes being implemented, the poverty level is on increase in Bids local government and private sector should invest significantly in basic social services and development of the grassroots level to help reduce to a reasonable degree of the poverty effect in the area. ...
