Comparison of the strength of concrete produced with coarse aggregate in different location Department:Civil Engineering By: Arinze1 Project ID: 5401 Rating: (3.2) votes: 11 Price:₦4000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractThis project work is aimed at investigating and comparing the strength of coarse aggregate from different sources. These include both the physical and mechanical properties of coarse aggregate materials collected from different sources. The sample is collected from Abakaliki quarry site in Ebonyi State, Lokpanta quarry site in Umunneochi, Abia State and Otanmiri River in Owerri, Imo State, all in southeast part of Nigeria. The properties of these aggregates differ from place to place due to the composition of the parent material, weathering and other environmental factors. Some regulatory bodies like British Standard Institute BSI and American Association of State Highway and Transportation officials AASHTO has formulated standard testing methods for investigating the physical and chemical properties of aggregate. Based on BS and ASTM, some tests were carried out on the different samples which include Los Angeles Abrasion test, Aggregate Impact Value test, Specific Gravity and Water Absorption tests, Grading test (sieve analysis) and Compression test. These tests were carried out on the three samples to investigate their properties and finally, a comparison was made on their different properties. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Civil Engineering project topics and materials you might be interested in»Comparing the compressive strength of concrete made with sand as fine aggregate and with chipping dust as fine aggregate»The comparative study of the compressive strength of concrete made with granite to that made with river round stone (pebble) and local stone»The use of computer in civil engineering»Importance of timber in civil engineering construction»Construction and Installation of a Panel Door»Construction of wardrobe key study on wood work»Effect of street trading on traffic performance and control»Assessment of different types of foundation and their mode of construction»Comparison of soil bearing capacity of different locations in Imo state»Investigation into the suitability of sand and gravel materials commonly used in building construction»Investigating the effect of partial replacement of cement with eggshell powder in concrete production»An investigation in to the causes of cracks in building and possible solutions - a case study of Kukar Gesa community in Katsina metropolis»Determination of the causes, effects of environmental pollution and its possible control within Kwara and Osun state»Suitability of available laterite material in Ilorin East local government area for road construction»Model for prediction of rainfall intensity in Lagos
