Formulation of microbial growth medium from sweet potato Department:Science Technology By: uzogood4u Project ID: 5809 Rating: (5.0) votes: 1 Price:₦2000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractAgar medium preparation from sweet potato without dextrose was evaluated as a growth medium for two phytopathogenic fungi. Sabouraud dextrose agar (S.D.A) was used as a control. Sweet potato medium as well as sabouraud dextrose agar bread and garri. Culture was incubated for 3days, after which growth of micro-organism was observed. Lactophenol stain was done to dictate the particular micro-organism that grew on the plate. Aspergillum was observed on the plate that contained Garry, and mould (penicellium) was observed on the plate that contained bread, on both sabouraud dextrose agar and sweet potato extract medium. There was greater growth on sweet potato extract medium while on sabouraud dextrose agar. Less growth appeared because of streptomycin that was incorporated to inhibit some growth of micro-organisms on both. Total plater count shown was 1.24x106 cfu/ml from bread on sabouraud dextrose agar (S.D.A). 7.6X10 SCFU./ML form Garry on sabouraud dextrose agar, 9.4x105 cfu/ml. From Garry on sweet potato extracted medium and 1.74x106 cfu/ml. From bread on sweet potato extract medium. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Science Technology project topics and materials you might be interested in»Design and construction of cell phone charger»Bacteriological qualities of food thickener deuterium microcarpum (ofor) and brachystegia eurcycoma (achi) sold in Owerri main market»Physiochemical assessment of soil samples from Nwambe Reserve Forest, Ndubia Igagu Izzi L.G.A, Ebonyi State.»Obstacle detection robot with ultrasonic sensor»Antitrypanosomal activity of ethanol extract of Tridax Procumbent leaf and whole flower on T.
