Abstract
This product work titled performance appraisal as a measure of increasing productivity in -------- Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) aimed at examining the impact of performance appraisal in increasing the productivity of workers, finding out the various techniques used for performance appraisal and also to investigate the various environmental variables affecting performance appraisal programmes, the research used both primary and secondary sources of data. The research also used simple percentage and chi-square in analyzing the data. It was found that the output of every organization depends on how well and how much the performance of employees is appraised. The research work recommends the following: Performance appraisal should be done regularly in order to improve productivity so as to bring about effectiveness and efficiency at the workplace, employee should be given task and target to meet which will serve as a pull to work performance in order to increase productivity because every employee that us being target will want to meet target and performance appraisal should be conducted on the job not by essay because employees might not be in a state of mind when conducting essay but on the Job. ...
