Data were collected using one set of structured questionnaires, one each for the wholesalers, and retailers, fifty respondents were randomly selected. The data generated were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages), measures of marketing efficiency, Gini coefficient. The result showed that 40% of the local chicken marketers were between 21-40 years of age. It also showed that 42% had Arabic Education. A Gini coefficient of 0.76 showed that marketing is perfectly competitive in the study area. Marketing margin was also obtained for wholesalers and retailers. The value was N10,000 N 7,000 respectively. 60% of the respondents attributed their problems to a lack of assistance from the government.
