The project work aimed to identify the various control methods especially biological and chemical and enlighten the farmers on how the pests are controlled to minimize damage caused by them to agricultural production which lead to loss to the farmers. The data was collected through questionnaires, field visits and oral interviews with farmers in the study areas. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, that is by taking the frequency and percentage of the data collected (simply by dividing the actual outcomes over total outcomes and multiplying by hundred 100). The major findings are that the farmers suffer from aphids (50%) and beetles 37.50% attacks on their farms. This, however, is being controlled by the use of chemical methods as indicated by table 10 where 67.50% and 15% of the respondents use chemical and biological methods to control them. The techniques involved in the biological control is by use of predators as indicated by the 50% response shown in table 13. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Agricultural Extension and Management project topics and materials you might be interested in»Poultry farming - a veritable tool for economic empowerment in Makurdi, Benue state, Nigeria»Growth and yield response of N.P.K fertilizer to Amaranthus Caudatus Linnaeus»An assessment of problems and prospects of rabbit production»Assessment of post harvest losses using PHL visual losses model of pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (l.)
