Assessment of knowledge on the causes of infertility among women attending gyneacology clinic in Kaura Namoda General Hospital Department:Community Health By: Raheem Project ID: 6484 Rating: (5.0) votes: 1 Price:₦3000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractThe study was carried out to assess the knowledge of women on the causes of infertility among women attending gynecology clinic in Kaura Namoda General Hospital. The study adopts a descriptive survey design, data was collected from women using convenient sampling method. The administration of the instruments (questionnaire) was done by the researcher. 48 questionnaires were administered and data was analyzed using bar chart, pie chart, histogram and mean statistics (X). The research work has 4 items with four rating scales with cut off 2.5 and above considered agreed and less than 2.5 considered disagreed. From the data analysis, it was discovered that women have knowledge of infertility and they also agreed that infertility is the inability of the women to conceive after one to two years of marriage. Based on the causes of infertility all respondents agreed that sexually transmitted disease such as pelvic inflammatory disease, predisposes to infertility. Based on the possible ways of preventing infertility the respondents agreed that early detection and prompt management of sexually transmitted infections reduce the risk of infertility. Hence based on the findings of the study it was concluded that women have knowledge on the causes of infertility and possible ways of preventing it.
