Abstract
Social media refers to Internet-based applications that enable people to communicate and share resources and information. The study, therefore, focused on the Social Media Effect on Youth Perception of Police in Katsina Metropolis. A total of two hundred and eleven respondents were selected from Katisna metropolis, using sampling technique with the use of questionnaires to collect information from respondents who participated in the study. The data collected were carefully analyzed using percentages. The findings revealed that youth perceptions of the police as corrupt are born out of Social media Influence. The findings revealed that Nigerian police''s public opinion has consistently been negative due to their misconduct. The findings further show social media has negative on youth perception of police. The findings further revealed that there is a significant relationship between youth perception and Police. The findings also revealed that social media make the Police accept taking responsibility for their actions. The researcher recommended that the police should regularly re-orientate its members on the need for professionalism in their duties, on ethical issues of the police....
