Abstract
The project addresses the issues of state capacity and the challenges of policy implementation in Nigeria. A case study of Edo State pension policy, the major instrument used for the collection of data is the questionnaire method and the major aims and purpose of this study is to examine the administration of the retirement policy and the problem associated with its implementation in Edo State, in order to find solution to the research problem stated and to obtain maximum and reliable information which would be in consonance with the objective of the administration of the retirement policy in Nigeria public sector in particular has with it a lot of implementation challenges ranging from corrupt practices on the part of policy implementation who engage in reducing the benefits accruable for retirees to meet their basic needs in relation to economic situation of the country, this is as a result of lack of enlightenment on the part of government and it is believed that the reason for their anomaly is to create room for government official to find a loophole of tempering with the benefits of retirees. The data for this research work were gotten from two major sources primary and secondary. The major source for the primary data was from a questionnaire while that of the secondary resources were from journal, article and magazines....
