The study was conducted at the Small Ruminant Unit of the Adamawa State University Teaching and Research Farm, Mubi. The feeds were obtained from two different sources in and around Mubi environs. The Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla) leaves were obtained from the wild by lopping the trees and collecting the leaves and bagging them after drying under the shade. Brewers’ dried grain was bought from the local beer brewers. Twelve West African Dwarf bucks of an average age of 12 months and mean live weight of 12 kg were sourced/bought from the local markets in and around Mubi. They were allocated to four treatments with each treatment replicated three times, making a total of twelve experimental animals. The treatments were T1, T2, T3 and T4 received Mahogany leaves ad libitum as basal diet which was supplemented with 0g, 100g, 150g, and 200g of brewers’ dried grain (BDG) across treatments. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was employed in the study. The results reveal that dry matter intake (DMI) significantly (P0.05) increased with an increase in brewer dried grain inclusion in the diets. Crude fiber (CF) ranges between 32.74 to 86.44 for treatments 2 and 1respectively, Ash ranged between 6.27 to 14.22 for treatments 1 and 3 respectively, nitrogen free extract (NFE) ranged between 8.70 to 18.20 for treatments 3 and 4 respectively, crude protein (CP) ranged between 35.73 to 82.85 for treatment 4 and 3 respectively, ether extract (EE) ranged from 64.30 to 82.44 respectively but were not significant (P0.05) across the treatment. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Animal Health and Production Technology project topics and materials you might be interested in»Prevalence of parasitic zoonoses in Kano state metropolitan abattoir»Fertility, hatchability and embryonic death in a wild guinea fowl eggs in an extensive farm managed in Bali l.g.a»Performance of guinea fowl fed different commercial feed vital feed and amo feed from 7-11 weeks»Effects of feeding mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla) leaves with brewers dried grains supplement on nutrients utilization of west african dwarf goats
