The study is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria in the year, 2022. Simple random and modified cluster sampling techniques were used to select 400 male artisans. Data were collected using a semi-structured interviewer-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire elicited questions on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents, knowledge, attitude and perception of infertility. Out of 400 copies of questionnaires, 391 copies were correctly filled while 9 were either wrongly filled or discarded. The study showed that the majority of the respondents (62%) had adequate knowledge of infertility, despite the general lack of adequate fertility knowledge, especially in developing countries. This study also showed that a lot of erroneous misconceptions and myths about infertility exist, mostly due to some deeply-rooted socio-cultural norms and religious practices. This has in turn jeopardized the reproductive help of people by hindering them from having positive health-seeking behavior and seeking the appropriate medical help. Knowledge and perception are closely related. Adequate knowledge of the causes, prevention and appropriate treatment options of infertility should be provided to the general public through community-based fertility awareness programs and reproductive health education, so as to promote the right perception, attitude and positive health-seeking behavior as regards infertility....Preview Download Preview +Other Community Medicine project topics and materials you might be interested in»Knowledge and perceptions of infertility by male artisans in Nnewi north local government area, Anambra state»Assessment of reported cases of sexual abuse among adolescent during covid-19 pandemic in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi in Anambra state»Assessment of household solid waste management in selected local government areas in Plateau state - a comparison between urban and rural»Awareness of HPV, HPV vaccine and rate of vaccination among female students of school of nursing sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi»Assessment of knowledge, attitude, and practice of coping mechanisms for dysmenorrhea among female nursing students in NAUTH, Nnewi»Prevalence and associated selected factors of respiratory tract infections among under-5 children treated at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Neni - a 5 year review»Prevalence and determinants of pica amongst pregnant women attending antenatal clinic in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Anambra state»Socio-demographics, pattern of presentation and treatment outcome of breast cancer among female patients in tertiary health institutions in Anambra state: a five-year review»Prevalence of foreign body aspiration among pediatric patients at Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi»Assessing and comparing obesity among primary school children in urban and rural areas of Anambra State»Perception and factors affecting the acceptance of online lectures among medical students in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi»Prostate cancer awareness and screening amongst men aged 40 years and above in Nkwo Nnewi market, Nnewi»Factors associated with the practice of HIV screening among nursing students in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi»Knowledge, attitude and practice of preventive measures against communicable diseases in daycare centers in Nnewi-North LGA Anambra state»Knowledge, acceptance and perception of caesarean section among women of childbearing age at a primary health centre in Neni, Anambra state
