The background highlighted the increasing use of EHRs globally to improve healthcare quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency but noted little was known about HER progress and effectiveness in Nigerian hospitals like NAUTH. The study utilized a descriptive survey research design. The population consisted of 53 health records staff at NAUTH. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The research hypothesis tested was: There is a significant relationship between the utilization of electronic health records systems and their impact on healthcare delivery. The findings revealed that a majority (50.9%) of the 53 respondents agreed that EHRs offer more benefits compared to manual record-keeping systems. However, 52.8% cited barriers to successful HER utilization. Most (98.1%) agreed that HER impact can improve healthcare at NAUTH. In testing the hypothesis using chi-square analysis, the calculated value (14.4) was greater than the tabulated value (3.84), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The conclusion was that there is a significant relationship between HER utilization and its impact on healthcare delivery. The study recommended providing more HER facilities, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, training staff on EHRs, and prioritizing the employment of skilled health records personnel to enhance HER utilization and optimize healthcare delivery....Preview Download Preview +Other Health Information Management project topics and materials you might be interested in»Analysis of filing system and consequences of misfiling»Impact of health information management in healthcare delivery»Evaluation of the problems and constraints facing health record keeping and professionals»Assessment of challenges of health information management practice in General Hospital Ilorin, Kwara State»Analysis of filing system and consequences of misfiling patients health records in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara state»A study into causes of misfiling among health information management professionals in health records department - case study of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara state»Factors militating against effective documentation in health care delivery system in University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin City, Edo state»Evaluation of confidentiality of patient health records among hospital staff»Evaluation of patient appointment system - a case study of university of Ilorin teaching hospital»Effect of lack of health information computerization in the primary health care system»Impact of electronic medical records on patients waiting time in health care delivery system in Federal Medical Center, Asaba, Delta state»Causes and consequences of breach of confidentiality of patient health information in Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos state»Impact of health statistics in the health care delivery system at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State»Evaluation of the importance of health information management in primary health care»Knowledge and perception of health information management professionals on electronic coding for quality clinical data in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara state
