Abstract
The research work aims to assess“Effective communication as a tool for promoting organizational objectives in Kurmi Local Government Secretariat, Taraba State, Nigeria. The general objective of the study is to identify the process or channel of communication in organization performance in Kurmi Local Government Area. The study used the primary and secondary sources of data for the research which are the questionnaire, interview and observation while structured questionnaire is the major instrument for data collection.  The questionnaire was analyzed with simple percentages.  The study revealed that effective communication is a foundation upon which every organization irrespective of size and structure must be built: survey results also indicated a unanimous acceptance of the importance of communication in attaining corporate goals. The researcher concluded that the general purpose of communication in an organization is to effect change to influence actions toward the realization of organizational goals. Communication is therefore a foundation stone upon which other activities and functions of the organization depend. Group activity is impossible without communication. This is because, without it, coordination and change cannot be affected. Thus, to ensure that such activities and functions run effectively, an organization has to develop effective communication irrespective of the type of organization. Based on the findings, it was recommended that a simple organizational structure should be designed and implemented for easy flow of communication. Downward, upward and horizontal flow of information is better and easily facilitated in a modest organization structure. Managers are advised to spend much time when it is necessary to communicate verbally to their subordinates because it enhances Proper understanding of the message....
