Abstract
This study assessed“Physical education teachers’ views on the need to improvise facilities to teach skills in practical lessons in Junior Secondary Schools at Rijiyar Zaki Ungogo LGA, Kano State”. To achieve this purpose, research questions were developed to guide the study. A survey research design was used for this study. The sample of the study was Ten (10) physical education teachers. Simple frequency and percentage were used for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that Improvised facilities to teach skills in practical classes enhance the teaching and learning process of Physical Education. The finding also revealed that Funding affects the ability to improvise facilities to teach skills because the schools do not support this financially and Safety Concerns need to be considered to utilize the facilities in Junior Secondary schools in Kumbotso local government area of Kano state. It was recommended that Advocacy is required for increased funding and resources for physical education programs to improve facilities, purchase updated equipment, and maintain existing infrastructure. Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure that facilities are safe for students to use during physical education classes, including regular inspections and maintenance routines. Physical education teachers should be encouraged by the management through a support system to improvise simple facilities to teach skills in practical lessons....
