This study assesses the effectiveness of a specific youth development programme in fostering self-reliance among participants. The programme, designed to provide vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and life skills education, aims to address the challenges faced by youth in transitioning to adulthood and the workforce. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. A sample of 200 participants who completed the programme was surveyed to gather data on skill acquisition, employment status, and entrepreneurial activities. In-depth interviews with 30 participants provided insights into personal experiences and perceived impacts. Secondary data from programme records were also analyzed to corroborate findings. The assessment revealed significant improvements in participants' skill sets, with 75% reporting enhanced employability and 60% securing employment within six months of completing the programme. Entrepreneurial activities increased, with 40% of participants starting their own businesses or engaging in income-generating activities. Life skills development was notable, with participants demonstrating improved financial literacy and problem-solving abilities. Overall, 80% of participants reported a sense of increased self-reliance and confidence in their ability to manage their lives independently.
